The Benedictine School  -  A Socially-Oriented School

Our mission can never be diversed from the present realities of ecological imbalance, poverty, moral decline, political instability, increasing human right violations and foreign interventions which diminish the dignity and welfare of our nation and of people of the third world.  As a community, we are called to be in solidarity with the poor and to participate actively in bringing about the Good News of our liberation and the restoration of our God-given dignity as a people.

We see our task as one of the socially oriented schools. Hence, we shall work together so that:

  • The administration, faculty and students are critically aware of the current economic, political, ecological and socio-cultural conditions of the Philippines.

  • The academic community is actively involved in work with the marginalized of society towards their development and liberation.

  • The curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities foster the development of social awareness and involvement of the different sectors of the community with chosen program of actions.

  • The teaching methodology and approaches to learning and system of evaluation recognize individual uniqueness and develop critical thinking and cultivate social responsibility.

  • The policies of employment and interrelationships reflect social values especially justice, equity and respect for human dignity.

  • The various sectors participate in making decisions.
