School Discipline

          Discipline is a very important training towards self-control and character formation. Every Agnesian is expected to behave in a manner that speaks well of himself/herself, his/her family and the school. At St. Agnes’ Academy, order and good behavior are emphasized. In case rules and regulations are violated, disciplinary administrative sanctions are applied in order to:

  • inculcate in the pupils the importance of order and discipline
  • teach them respect for laws and authority
  • develop in them the sense of justice and fairness
  • strengthen their sense of responsibility

 

         Outstanding achievement/performance done beyond the call of duty which has a bearing on the school life of a child is worthy of emulation. This is reflected in his/her deportment grade. On the other hand, violation of school rules and regulations is discouraged. Thus, sanctions are imposed in order to make the pupils realize the importance of law and order in attaining self-discipline.

 

The school is governed by the Manual of Regulations for Private Schools, Article XIV, school Discipline.

 

Section 77. Categories of Administrative Penalties

 

         The three categories of disciplinary sanctions for serious offenses or violations of school rules and regulations is discouraged. Thus, sanctions are imposed in order to make the pupils realize the importance of law and order in attaining self-discipline.

 

1. Suspension

         Suspension is a penalty in which the school is allowed to deny or deprive an   Department is required in the imposition of the said penalty.

 

3. Expulsion

         Expulsion is an extreme penalty on an erring pupil or student consisting of his exclusion from admission to any public or private school in the Philippines and which requires the prior approval of the Secretary of Education.

 

Section 78. Authority to Promulgate Rules

 

         Every private school shall have the right to promulgate reasonable norms, rules and regulations it may deem necessary and consistent with he  provision of this Manual for the maintenance of good school discipline and class attendance. Such rules and regulations shall be effective as of the date of promulgation and notification to students in an appropriate school issuance or publication.
