Academic Policies

ADMISSION       

 

             The High School Department of St. Agnes’ Academy is open to elementary graduates and transferees who meet its academic standards and who agree to abide by its policies, rules and regulations. The act of enrollment confirms the fact that they have so agreed.

 

              The school reserves the right to admit, re-admit, refuse admission or drop from the rolls a student on the basis of her academic performance and/or conduct and attendance.

 

               Readmission is not granted to:

 

                      a. Probationary students whose performance fall short of the requirement,

                                i.e., with failing grades.

                            b. Students who fail in the same year level twice are PASSED but NOT TO BE

                                READMITTED.

                            c.  Returnees whose reasons for leaving were due to academic failures and

                                grave misconduct.

                            d. Students with back subjects

 

 

                All students seeking admission shall enroll during the prescribed enrollment period.

 

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

 

                School fees include tuition and special fees. These are paid either on an annual, semestral or monthly mode of payments.

 

                 Issuance of a Statement of Account is done every month.

 

Refund of Fees:

 

                 The Manual of Regulations for Private Schools, 1992 Edition has the following pertinent portions for Tuition Charges/Refund:

 

                  A student who transfers or withdraws in writing within two weeks after the beginning of classes and who has already paid the pertinent tuition and other school fees in full or for any length longer than one month may be charged ten percent of the total amount due for the term if he/she withdraws within the first week of classes, or twenty percent if within the first week of classes, regardless of whether or not he/she has actually attended classes. The student will be charged the full school fees if he/she withdraws anytime after the second week of classes is over.

 

PROMOTION AND RETENTION

 

                 Promotion shall be by subject and by the number of units. In this case, a student who fails in three (3) units or less is promoted to the next curriculum level. On the other hand, a student who fails in more than three (3) units is retained in the year level. (DepEd Order No. 37, s. 2003, Revised Implementing Guidelines of the 2002 Secondary Education Curriculum Effective School Year 2003-2004)

 

                 The student must repeat the curriculum level if he/she wishes to continue in the school. Otherwise, he/she is advised to transfer to another school. A student who fails in 3 units or less can redeem his/her failures by attending summer classes.

 

PROBATION

 

                 Probation is a status given for a period of one year to transferees, students with serious academic deficiency and consistent misbehavior and those students repeating the year level. Putting the student on probation serves as a warning that separation from school may the parents and the students concerned.

A student can only be on Probationary Status once.

 

WITHDRAWALS

 

                 Official notification from parents should be submitted to the Registrar’s Office on or before the last expected day of class attendance of the student concerned for the proper fee to be collected from the student. The student/parent/guardian must accomplish the Clearance Form in order to be officially released from all obligations in the school.

 

DISMISSAL

 

The school reserves the right to dismiss any student who is found guilty of grave misconduct.
