ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCES
The student’s personal growth and development depend largely on their regular and punctual attendance at classes and other official school activities.
a. Students are expected to attend their classes regularly. Legitimate absence from classes is excused if it is
for reasons such as illness or death in the family, and confirmed by parent or legal guardian, either
personally or through a letter.
b. A student who has been absent from school is required to present an excuse letter from his/her parents
or guardian. This letter should contain the inclusive dates of, and the reasons for the absence. No student
may be admitted to class without an excuse letter after an absence. PHONE CALLS DO NOT REPLACE
EXCUSE LETTERS. No student who has been absent is excused from any work that has been assigned during
his/her absence.
c. A student who comes to school after the first period is considered absent for half a day. He/she should
present an excuse letter signed by his/her parents.
d. No student may be excused from long tests, quizzes, seatwork or any other work assigned during her
absence.
e. In case a student is absent for three or more days due to illness, he/she should submit a medical
certificate together with the excuse letter. Otherwise, the student will not be officially excused from the
work he/she has missed.
f. Students must attend all school functions and activities which take the place of classroom activities. Failure
to attend or to come on time for these activities will be considered an absence or late to the said
function.
PUNCTUALITY AND TARDINESS
Students are expected to develop the habit of punctuality. Hence they should be on time for class and other school activities.
a. A student is considered late if he/she comes after the second bell.
b. A student who is late for class should secure a permit to enter from the Year level Formator. In case of
heavy rains and emergencies, the use of the permit to enter slip may be waived.
c. Repeated unexcused tardiness is a minor offense and will be meted sanctions commensurate to such.
PERMISSION TO LEAVE THE CLASSROOM
As a general rule, no student is allowed to go out of the classroom during class hours, in-between periods, and if the subject teacher is not yet around.
Should the student feel the need to leave the classroom during the in-between periods, he/she should wait and ask permission from the next subject teacher. The student will be given a hall pass in exchange for his/her ID. Upon return, the student returns the hall pass to the teacher and retrieves his/her ID.
Only one student will be granted permission to leave the classroom at any given time.
In cases when a student is summoned to any of the High School Offices or the Guidance, the student should surrender the call slip/appointment slip to the subject teacher who notes the time in/out written on the attendance sheet/class log book. The call slip serves as the hall pass.
CALLING OUT STUDENTS FROM CLASS
a. Only the Principal, the coordinators and the guidance counselors may call a student out of class. A call slip
is presented to the teachers to inform him/her of the need for the students to leave the class. The call
slip serves as a hall pass.
b. A student who is taking a test may not be called out of his/her class unless the slip is marked URGENT.
c. Parents who wish to call their child from the classroom for any urgent reason, must secure permission from
the Principal who issues a call slip. They are to meet their child at the High School Office.
d. Students may be allowed to interrupt class time to make announcements or call out anymember of the
class only upon presentation of a note/letter issued by a person-in-authority
GOING TO THE CLINIC
a. A student who is not feeling well secures a hall pass from the teacher to go to the school clinic. Before
returning to the classroom, the school nurse gives the student a confirmation slip which the student
should surrender to the classroom teacher.
b. If the student is too ill to return to class, the school physician/nurse informs the parents/guardians of the
student and advises them to fetch their child/ward from school. The school physician/nurse issues a slip
recommending that the student be allowed to go home. This is submitted to the Principal or to the
Academic/Activities Coordinator who then issues the student a permit to leave slip. The hall pass is to be
returned to the classroom teacher who in turn signs the permit to leave slip. The permit to leave slip is
presented to the guards
