Disciplinary Action

4500 Rizal Street, Legazpi City, Philippines  (052) 480-1682

No penalty is ever pleasant — not for the one who gives it nor for the one who receives it. Nonetheless, violation of rules and regulations calls for appropriate punishment to be given in the spirit of justice and understanding.

Disciplinary action may take the form of:

1. Oral warning or reprimand

2. Community Service

3. Written Warning. A written warning is given to call the students attention that the commission of another offense will warrant a more serious sanction.

4. Withdrawal of privileges / position in class or in club

5. Suspension

     a. In-school suspension bars the student from entering the classroom and attending classes. The student reports to the Guidance counselor for counseling sessions

     b. Off-Campus suspension prohibits the student’s presence in school and in any school-related activity off campus.

6. Suspension carries with it a Disciplinary Probation status. A student placed on suspension may not be allowed to take any make-up work for any academic work missed. Further, he/she automatically gets a grade of C in the deportment criteria related to the offense committed for the quarter.

7. Prohibition from participating in school functions such as Commencement Exercises, sports, Intramurals. A senior may not be allowed to participate in the Commencement Exercises if he/she commits a major or serious offense and/or a series of minor offenses during the practices for the graduation exercises.

8. Non-readmission.  Non-readmission is a lighter penalty than exclusion. Unlike exclusion, non-readmission allows a student to finish the year but will be denied admission the next year.

9. Exclusion /cancellation of enrolment. Exclusion is a penalty that involves the removal of a student from the school due to a serious breach of school rules.

10. Expulsion. Expulsion is an extreme form of administrative sanction which debars a student from all public and private schools in the Philippines. The penalty may not be imposed without the approval of the DepEd secretary. To secure such authority, the school must submit its decision on the case with the supporting documents to the DepEd within ten (10) days from the conclusion of the investigation.
