FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSES OF THE LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER
The Learning Resource Center is the medium for teaching students to love and use books and other instruction materials judiciously for learning. The center assists the school in attaining its goals and objectives and is therefore a vital force in the educational activity of the clientele.
The functions and purposes of the Learning Resource Center are summarized as follows:
1. To assist effectively in the school program as it strives to meet the educational demands of the students by providing them with appropriate materials and services.
2. To motivate, stimulate and improve the reading habits of the students so that they grow in critical judgment and appreciation.
3. To meet the research needs of the students according to their level of maturity.
4. To encourage faculty participation in the selection and use of all types of print and non-print library materials needed in the classroom and laboratories.
5. To train the students in the use and care of valuable library materials so that in later years they will be able to use larger libraries and be owners and users of books in their homes.
6. To provide the technical and specialized study materials needed to keep the faculty abreast in the teaching field.
