For your best interest and for you to have a pleasant, meaningful and very fruitful stay in St. Agnes’ this revised and amended student handbook was prepared especially for you.
From the Prologue of the Holy Rule, Saint Benedict wrote:
“Listen (read) carefully my son / daughter to the master’s instructions, and attend to them with the ear of your heart. This is an ADVICE from a father who LOVES you; WELCOME it and FAITHFULLY put it into practice. The labor of OBEDIENCE will bring you back to him from whom you had drifted through the sloth of disobedience.”
The admonition of St. Benedict captures the essence of what a Student Handbook is all about. It is not a mere compilation of rules and regulations, policies and philosophies, objectives and goals or where to find some school songs and formula type of prayers. A Student Handbook is like a road map that gives you a sense of direction and leads you to your destination. A Student Handbook is an advice that inspires and encourages you to be the best that you can be and BECOME...
This handbook is for your PARENTS too. They sent you to SAA with the best intentions. Together read through the content of the handbook and be well informed. Your parents are the school’s partners in your education.
Always remember, responsibility educates.
Because no handbook can be all inclusive or anticipate all situations, the administration of St. Agnes’ reserves the right to execute any measure they deem necessary to insure the smooth operation of the school, the safety of its students, faculty and staff, and the advancement of all aspects of educational process as defined by its mission. This includes taking disciplinary action for any behavior that violates the spirit and philosophy of St. Agnes Academy, even though not specifically stated in this handbook. Any aspect of this handbook is subject to change, addition, or deletion by the administration with reasonable notice.
