Objectives of the High School Department

        Conscious of the mission as a Catholic, Benedictine and Socially – Oriented school, St. Agnes’ Academy aims to:

 

1. Instill a sincere search for God in prayer (ORA), in silence and solitude, and in genuine service to

    others.

 

2. Facilitate the formation of a value system with emphasis on respect for life, human dignity, listening

    and obedience, order and discipline, hospitality and stewardship, moderation and stability and

    simplicity of lifestyle.

 

3. Provide a holistic education of body – heart – mind – spirit manifested in one’s academic excellence,

    personal transformation, social responsibility and refinement in behavior.

 

4. Offer an atmosphere of authenticity, mutuality and empathy that allows for self-discovery and

    responsible freedom necessary for self-actualization.

 

5. Train the students for creative, analytical, critical and unitive thinking and develop in them the gift

    of wisdom.

 

6. Strengthen the ability to make wise; fair, prudent and independent decisions.

 

7. Inculcate a profound sense of nationalism and patriotism by a deeper understanding of the

    country’s history, culture and government.

 

8. Provide sufficient information about the socio-cultural, economic, political issues on the national

    and global levels.

 

9. Imbue a deep involvement in movement for social awareness and social transformation.

 

10. Provide Education for Peace (PAX) in a world characterized by violence, global terrorism,

      consumerism, globalization, corruption, poverty and oppression, abuse of men, women and

      children, family disintegration, greed  and hunger for power, destruction of the environment and

      moral deterioration.

 

11. Do outreach activities to some of the poor and marginalized communities in the province of Albay

      and process these experiences for an in depth internalization and integration.

 

12. Celebrate life to the fullest by vibrant and meaningful celebration of the liturgy.
