The Educational Council

         The Educational Council assists the Directress in the formation and review of the educational policies within the framework established by the Board of Trustees.  It is likewise the coordinating body of the entire school.  The Educational Council is composed of the Directress, who is the chairperson, the Treasurer, the Grade School Principal, the High School Principal, the Guidance Councilor and the Registrar.

 

          The council meets four (4) times a year.  Special meeting may be called by the chairperson.  The notice of meeting with the agenda is sent to the members a week before the scheduled date.  A simple majority of the members constitute a quorum.  

 

The Educational Council has the following functions:

 

1. Recommend to the Board of Trustees educational policies for the entire school.

 

2. To review and oversee policies of the different units and/or the institution.

 

3. To draw up and approve immediate and long plans for the following:

 

     a. Improvement of the academic programs

 

    • major changes in curricular offerings
    • admission policies
    • scholarship grants
    • faculty development
    • research activities
    • build-up multi-sensory materials

 

    b. development of non-academic matters affecting student life in contemporary society

 

    • parent-enrichment program
    • school-community relations and linkages with the community resources

 

4. To review in detail the implementation of academic policies and program that affect more than one unit of

    the institution.
