The Treasurer

         The Treasurer, who shall be a member of the Congregation of the Missionary Benedictine Sisters, is appointed by the Superior of the Religious community of St. Agnes’ Academy.  Her appointment is subject to confirmation by the Board of Trustees.  The term of office is three (3) years with possible re-appointment.             

 

         The Treasurer is directly responsible to the Directress in carrying out the financial and business policies of the school, administering the physical assets, revenues and expenditures and controlling all business transactions of the Academy.

 

 

1. In relation to her responsibilities to the Directress, she is expected to:

 

      a. collate the budget proposals of the departments and units, and prepare the annual budget

          for presentation to and approval by the Board of Trustees;

 

      b. advice the Directress on the financial operations of the school;

 

      c.  have custody of all the funds and securities and mange these according to the directives of

           the Board of Trustees.

 

2. In relation to her responsibilities to the faculty and other staff members, sheis expected to:

 

      a. provide for all payroll and other disbursement and transactions with school employees and

          properly account for these

 

      b. provide suitable supplies and equipment within budget limitations for the operation of

          teaching and service departments

 

3. In relation to her responsibilities to the students and their organizations, she is expected to

    provide the students and their parents prompt and accurate statements of their accounts with

    the school.

 

4. As custodian of all school properties, she is expected to:

 

      a. be responsible for all physical property belonging to the school and keep an accurate

          inventory thereof. 

 

      b. maintain a safe place for all funds, securities, deeds and other instruments and valuable

          property of the Academy.

 

     c. make certain that all property of the school subject to damage or that may be hazardous

          are covered by the insurance policy in amount deemed reasonable by proper insurance

          counsel.

     

5. In relation to her responsibilities to the community, she is expected to:

 

      a. promote harmonious relations with all suppliers and customers of the school enterprise, so

          that the school as an institution may and would reflect an effective Christian witness;

 

      b. sign checks and official documents in the name of the Academy, as authorized by the Board

          of Trustees;

 

      c. supervise all school accounting, provide adequate records of all transactions with all

          persons and firms doing business with the Academy;

 

      d. supervise the receipt for and safeguard them until disbursed according to  the budget

          plans;

 

      e. control expenditures in harmony with the budget approved by the Boardof Trustees or for

          which the Board made specific appropriation.
